The privacy of our visitors is important to us and protection of your personal information is at the heart of privacy. We will never sell your personal information to third parties.
Among the types of personal data that The Money Whisperer collects, by itself or through third parties, there are: cookies, usage data, first name, last name, phone number, company name, address, email address and ZIP/Postal code. Some personal data may be freely provided by a user to the site, or, in case of usage data, collected automatically when using this site.
Below are the types of personal information we receive and collect when you use and visit The Money Whisperer, and how we safeguard your information.
What personal information we collect
When you register for The Money Whisperer email newsletter you need to provide your email address. We use your email to send you regular updates, special offers or other information we think you will find interesting.
When you subscribe to anything on this site, including free downloads or courses, you are required to double opt-in. This means you will receive an email on subscription from our mailing list provider – MailChimp – which contains a link. Your subscription will not be confirmed until you confirm that you indeed meant to subscribe by clicking that link.
All newsletters sent may contain tracking pixels. The pixel is embedded in emails and allows an analysis of the success of campaigns. Because of these tracking pixels, we may see if and when you open an email and which links within the email you click.
You can unsubscribe at any time by either:
- Clicking on the ‘unsubscribe’ button which you will find at the bottom of every email
- Sending me an email with the header ‘UNSUBSCRIBE’ to firstname.lastname@example.org
If you choose to leave a comment on The Money Whisperer you accept that:
- it will be published it at the bottom of the post.
- I may use information from your comment in later research.
- the name you enter into the ‘name’ field will be published on the comment. You may wish to use only your first name or an alias. If you accidentally use your full name, please email me at email@example.com,uk asking me to delete your surname.
- the email address you use is not published on the comment itself. You are not subscribing to my newsletter by entering your email to leave a comment.
- your IP address will be logged when you leave a comment. This data is not made public.
Please note that comments are moderated. I approve and edit them at my discretion based on the following guidelines:
- I will not publish any comment I consider to be offensive, unhelpful, promoting a course of action I disagree with, or simply self-promotion.
- I may shorten long comments to improve the reader experience.
- I may edit your comment to delete any names if you have referred to others.
- I may delete old comments if I consider this will improve the reader experience.
The Money Whisperer uses “third-party cookies”, set by an analytics company. The information collected is non-personal and I am not able to identify you from it. The information collected provides statistics which then help me to understand how the site is used by my readers, for example by knowing which pages are most frequently viewed and the number of visitors by country. You can choose to turn off these cookies – Google Analytics Opt Out.
The Money Whisperer also uses third party advertisements on the site. Some of these advertisers may use technology such as cookies and web beacons when they advertise on the site, which will also send these advertisers information including your IP address, your ISP, the browser you used to visit our site, and in some cases, whether you have Flash installed.
On some pages of this site, there may be “embedded content” from another site such as a YouTube video or Twitter. These sites may set their own cookies.
As with most other websites, we collect and use the data contained in log files. The information in the log files include your IP (internet protocol) address, your ISP (internet service provider, such as AOL or Shaw Cable), the browser you used to visit our site (such as Internet Explorer or Chrome), the time you visited our site and which pages you visited throughout our site.
We may use Google Analytics and tracking tools to collect anonymised data that cannot identify you but enables us to improve our website and deliver relevant and useful content to you. Google Analytics may capture your IP address, but no other personal information is captured. You can opt out of Google Analytics by going to https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
We may engage in affiliate marketing, which is done by embedding tracking links into the website. If you click on a link for an affiliate partnership, a cookie will be placed on your browser to track any sales for purposes of commissions. I may receive financial compensation from a merchant if a reader chooses to purchase goods/services via links on this website. You are in no way obligated to make any purchases and there is no additional cost to the reader by using these links.
I am always honest in my opinions and will only recommend products or services that I have either used myself, or that I believe could be of benefit to readers.

The Money Whisperer is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.co.uk.
We use Gleam to run competitions – these embedded ‘widgets’ collect information such as your email address, Facebook login, Twitter login or Instagram login details.
In addition, if you are the winner of a competition promoted by The Money Whisperer, your details will be forwarded to the sponsor in order to arrange delivery of your prize.
Who we share your data with
We keep all your personal information confidential.
We will not sell, distribute or lease your personal information to third parties unless we have your permission, are required to do so by law, or must in connection with legal proceedings.
How long we retain your data
If you have not used our services for a reasonable amount of time, we may contact you to ensure you are still happy to receive communications. We may also delete your personal information.
Even if we delete your personal information, it may remain on a back-up or in archives.
Accessing your data (SUBJECT ACCESS REQUEST)
If you want to see a copy of the information I hold about you, you are entitled to do this under section 7 of the Data Protection Act. To request this, please me email at firstname.lastname@example.org with your name and the email address which you used to either contact me or subscribe to the site. I will not send your personal information to an alternative email address. In the event that you no longer have access to the email account you are requesting information on, you will need to provide evidence that you are the owner of the email in question.
Methods of processing data
I will process any information held about you in a proper manner and will take appropriate security measures to prevent unauthorised access, disclosure, modification, or unauthorised destruction of that information.
The processing of this information is carried out using computers and/or IT enabled tools, following organizational procedures and modes strictly related to the purposes indicated above.
Although we do as much as we can to keep your data safe, information shared via the internet is not completely secure. We cannot guarantee the security of your data transmitted to our website and any transmission is at your own risk. Once we have received your personal information, we will use strict procedures and security features to try to prevent unauthorised access.
In the unlikely event of a data breach, I will let you know as soon as I am made aware of it.
