Before setting up The Money Whisperer, I worked all of my corporate career in the finance industry. I qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2006 in a Big 4 accountancy firm where I worked in corporate finance, valuing businesses for takeovers.

When you work in finance, people come to you with their money questions and struggles. I know from talking to friends that a lot of money-related decisions can be daunting as people often don’t have enough knowledge to make an informed choice.

I realised that the mountain of experience and tools I had around money management and wealth creation wasn’t general knowledge. I was fortunate that I was taught great money lessons when I was growing up, and this continued through my career, and personal opportunities.

But this is uncommon.

Money wasn’t a topic we studied at school and yet the decisions around how we make it, what we spend it on and how we manage our money can literally change our lives.

So I founded The Money Whisperer website to empower YOU to take control of YOUR financial situation.

I started off writing practical blog posts about what you should do; from saving and investing through to simple guides on how to combine your pensions and how to make sure your children will be looked after financially if you die.

Jargon-free, simple ways to understand basic money matters

But I quickly realised something….

People acknowledge the logic in the practical guidance I give, but they don’t act on it….

Which is exactly what drove my decision to train as a money coach.

My expertise and specialism in this area are increasingly seeing me educating and speaking on the psychology of money. I am thrilled to see more attention being given to this area alongside practical money education.

I believe that financial health and well being is not a luxury just for the wealthy - its a basic need for ALL.Click To Tweet

The difference between those who have a great relationship with money and those who don’t is what’s going on in their brain. Their mindset around money. Their beliefs, their feelings, their thoughts; how their inner voice talks to them.

So now I am hugely passionate about working with people to get their brains in the right place so that they can act on those practical tips and start to change their financial futures.

I equip you with both the right money mindset and the practical guidance and tools.

My passion is around how to make more from what you have and ultimately achieve financial independence.

Financial freedom is my personal goal; to be free to choose whether to work, and to have the strategies in place which enable this to happen.

I’m building the foundations NOW by investing in various things which are going to enable us to live the life we want to lead now and in to the future. We own rental property and I have been investing in the stock market for over 10 years; both of which are part of our financial independence plan. This year we paid off our mortgage which is a huge financial milestone.

Financial independence is what I want for you too. We are all unique and what this means to you is very personal. But I want you to want MORE. Not just to settle for the relationship which you currently have with money.

Come on this journey with me and you gain the benefit of my years of experience in the finance industry, my personal experience over the past 10 years as a property and stock market investor, and my further education in NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) and Timeline Therapy.

Be empowered to take control of your financial situation, learn good money habits and create the foundation to live your best life. I hope you enjoy!

My best-selling book

In March 2019, I co-authored a book The Woman I’m Becoming: Reflections to Empower the Females of our Future – aimed at teenage girls. Launched on International Women’s Day 2019 the electronic version of the book topped the best seller chart in 4 categories.

My passion is to change the way that people, and particularly women, engage with money. The media at large plays a huge role in how each sex identifies with money, with women more generally targeted as the money savers rather than the money makers. I aim to shake this up by inspiring women to get talking about money more, get interested in investing and saving for the future. A man should never be a financial plan…
